Juno

Just watched an old episode of Rachael Ray. She had Jennifer Garner on, talking about the "family" movie, Juno. They both think that it's a movie the whole family could watch. They even went so far to say that they cried at the end of the movie, but that they were tears of happiness. OK. Felt like punching them both in the face for saying something so incredibly stupid. A young girl gives her flesh and blood, her baby, up for adoption. The father of the baby doesn't even look at the baby, he just goes back to his guitar and sings a song. WTF??!! Is this considered a happy ending?

I know that adoption is necessary, and some of the time, maybe even most of the time, a good thing. I don't believe that a child should live with their biological family at any cost. If someone is an unfit parent, take the kid away, I won't say anything bad about that. And yes, teenage parents can be unfit, I won't dispute that either. BUT, teenage parents can be great parents too. (Just look at me, my kid turned out great, maybe I had something to do with that?!)

It just pissed me off whent they said it was a happy ending, because for one young woman, it's a huge loss. It's not a happy ending for her, even if she gets to play her guitar and sing with her boyfriend without a crying baby hanging on her arm. And, by the way, for all the Americans out there with their values and morals... Is it better for a baby to grow up with a successful, wealthy single woman as their mother, or is it better to grow up with your biological parents that are young and poor, but very much in love with each other? Please explain the logic in that for me, how a baby should grow up without even having a father!!!! In this scenario, the baby would not even have a father on their birth certificate. ?????

How about an adoption movie that is more realistic, more HONEST, entertainment industry?! I dare you...
