Picture sharing time is over! Back to the serious stuff...
Adoption...Teen pregancies...etc...
Why the hell do people adopt kids if they don't even intend to love them and cherish them as they would children of their own blood? What is the difference really? Is adoption a recreational activity now? Or a trend set by the likes of Madonna and Brangelina? (vomit break...)
I loved my parents no differently than I would have loved parents who gave birth to me. I really did. But did they return the favor? To love me unconditionally? (Definition for uncondionally; Without conditions or limitations; absolute) Even when I, at 15 years of age, got knocked up and refused to abort or give up the baby for adoption? I don't even know the answer to that. It doesn't feel like it. Not from where I'm standing now anyways. I wasn't even really a "trouble child"...I was polite, always did what I was told, respected my elders. I just happened to get pregnant young. (Oh, and that kid turned out PERFECTLY btw, she's in college, smart and beautiful and well mannered. Damned teen moms, can't do anything right, can they? *sarcasm, if you didn't catch that*)
As a teen mom, I always put my daughter first. I have always tried to do the right thing for all of my children, even when I was 16 years old with a 3 week old baby. I emphasise tried, because good intentions don't always make everything right, and I have messed up a time or 2, (or 1000) but I always had their feelings/well-being/safety first on my mind. Always, always. Even if the plans backfired, my intentions were good. So I get having good intentions, and having something go wrong along the way. That's not what I'm talking about.
What I'm talking about is messing your kid up on purpose. If you hit your kid, it's on purpose. If you treat one of your kids like they are better than your other kid/kids, that is on purpose too. If you leave everything or signifinatly more to one kid than to your other kid in your will, hey guess what?! Yes, that is fucking on purpose too. It happened to me, and I don't know if anything in my life has ever hurt me as much as that did. I don't think this blow is something I will ever recover from. The occasional beatings, them I could handle. But being told, after their deaths, that I was a lesser person, worth less than my brother, that's not something easily handled. Screw the money, it's not about money. It's about feeling like however much I ever tried to be a good daughter, however many times I tried to make them happy, make them love me, they just didn't. At least not like they did my brother. (He's adopted too) And no, I'm not stupid, I know that biological parents do these things to their children too. It's just that being adopted makes you so damned brittle, so fragile, an already broken soul gets even more broken, just to satisfy the adoptive parents own needs to have a child "for show". Yes, for show...I said it. If you adopt a child and treat it that way, YOU NEVER WANTED THE CHILD FOR UNSELFISH REASONS TO START WITH!!!!
Bottom line...Don't adopt a child if you don't have the very best of intentions from the get go...No matter what! Remember the definition for unconditionally; Without conditions or limitations; absolute. Again; Without conditions or limitations; absolute.
