I haven't been blogging since coming home from our last vacation to the US, mostly because I couldn't shake the stomach flu I had gotten over there! But I'm getting better now...And sorry for the blog written before this one...Some things just need to be said and then we can move on! So done with that!!! (Said blog is now removed!!!! If you don't kn ow what was said in it, you don't need to know either! LOL!)
I have been spending time planning some excursions for us in Hawaii! I found a great Luau for us that we'll be attending on Christmas Eve, booked an interisland flight to Oaho so we could visit Pearl Harbor and the USS Arizona Memorial, and also found a fantastic boat trip to the Molokini Crater to go snorkeling! We are all really looking forward to this trip, mostly the kids but even Tomas and I have started counting down the days! (OK, months!)
What else is new?...Oh, I got my schedule for work this summer, and I was HAPPY!!! I get to work graveyard shift, and my schedule is pretty light, so I'm not working my butt off this summer! VERY happy about that! I never work more than 4 nights a week, and I have 2 weeks completely free plus several weeks where I only work 1 or 2 shifts, so I am not complaining. After this year that has passed, I'm not sure I could take a busy working summer. I don't feel completely like myself still, I am still shell-shocked and sad and even empty in a way, but I know I will get through this soon.
Speaking of which, planting/gardening must be an activity that lightens spirits! I've been working on an herb garden, starting from seeds, and it is really relaxing and making me feel pretty good! We went shopping for more seeds and other stuff (solar powered lamps for the garden and 2 berry bushes, a blend of rasberry and blackberry, yes in the same bush!, were the most interesting purchases!) for the garden yesterday, and this time the kids wanted seeds too! So now it's really a family adventure. It will be interesting to see what happens in our garden this summer! *Keeping my fingers crossed we don't kill off everything we have planted and nurtured!*
I will post pics of the garden as it progresses...and I have charged the camera's batteries! ;)
